Our mud engineers were engaged in intensive training, and obviously improved their knowledges in such areas as rheology, hydrodynamics, mud cleaning and mud recycling systems and technologies, with respect to both oil based mud (OBM) and water based mud (WBM) systems. The training was mostly dedicated to the most typical drilling problems and implications, with detailed review of actual professional experience and activities conducted by the lead specialists of the company.
The knowledge obtained during the theoretical training was then utilized in the laboratory tests conducted in the central laboratory of AKROS.
The visit of Olga Nechaeva, the Associate Professor of the Samara State Technical University, became the notable event of the training course. This visit was arranged in the framework of Akros cooperation with the Oil and Gas Chairs of the best Universities of Russia. Olga visited the training center and held a round-table meeting dedicated to the problems associated with mud services, which became the subject for keen interest and active discussion with the participants of the intensive training course.
Also, one of the memorable events was a visit to the unique ChemRar High Tech research and development center, which accommodates the central laboratory of Akros. The employees of the ChemRar R&D Center made a tour for the AKROS engineers showing the resources containing the largest in the world collection of new chemical compounds.
